Light, effective, and convenient overmitts
Dressing in layers is the key for staying warm and dry in all seasons, and that includes your hands as well as the rest of your body.
The OR Revel shells are light, flexible, water/snow proof, breathable, and all seams are taped. These are the features I was searching for after my other shell mitts delaminated.
I used the OR mitts for the first time on an overnight backcountry ski trip. It snowed and stayed cold (14 F) all day during the ski in to our camp site. Worn over fleece gloves, the mitts kept my hands dry and warm. At camp, it was really nice to be able to use the wrist loops when temporarily removing the mitts when I needed extra dexterity while pitching the tent and unpacking as well as packing up the next morning - and not have to worry about the mitts getting misplaced, dropped, or blown away.
It was colder on the ski out (5 F), and the mitts easily accomodated a pair of thin liner gloves under the fleexe gloves. I had a thick pair of...

Lightweight and waterproof in the snow
I ordered these for a recent snow camping trip, and they kept my undermitts (not included in this product) perfectly dry while digging in the snow and cross-country skiing. By changing out the inner layer, I was able to have a "new" pair of mittens every day. They fit well and didn't let any snow in.
